Save the Trout Lake view cone
Stop the City of Vancouver from selling of off the Trout Lake public view
Selling off most of Vancouver’s view cones wasn’t enough. Now, the City wants to get rid of one more — a key panoramic view from a public park: Trout Lake.
They promised that "panoramic views" from public spaces would be protected. But now, they’re proposing to eliminate this view cone under the excuse of aligning with the Province of BC’s Transit Oriented Areas (TOA) plan.
That’s misleading. The City can choose to preserve view cones — even under the TOA framework. They have the authority to set planning priorities like these. This is a choice, not an obligation.
You can view all the proposed changes here and here.
Public feedback is open until Monday, May 19, via a quick survey.
Speak up now — stop the City from selling off another cherished public view to developers.
