Save the Date for City's View Cones Report + SFU Lecture Recording
Mark these dates on your calendar so you can protect Vancouver's view cones!
City Council voted for a report back on view cone policy sometime early this year. Since none of the city council agenda’s have featured view cones so far, we’re guessing that the next few council meetings may be the date when the fate of view cones are decided.
But we won’t know the exact date until a week in advance, so you should save the possible dates on your calendar now. We need as many people to go out to City Hall and speak. Last time, only two pro-view cone people spoke and they were over shadowed by real estate developers.
Here are the dates to save on your calendar:
April 9 and 10, 2024
April 23 and 24, 2024
May 7 and 8, 2024
It’ll likely be heard in the early morning to early afternoon one of these days.
We hope you can make it and help protect this important asset of Vancouver.
Please tell your friends to sign up for this mailing list to stay up to date too!
SFU View Cone Lecture Recording
Late December last year, SFU's City Program and SFU Urban Studies hosted a free lecture by former Vancouver Planning Director, Larry Beasley, and architect Peter Busby, who were key architects of the view cone policy.
Here’s a recording of the lecture you can watch and share:
